After serving Eagle Transport Corporation for 27 years, we are excited to celebrate the retirement of Regional Director Mike Proffitt.
“For 27 years, Mike has been a valuable part of the Eagle team and a steadfast leader,” President and COO Lance Collette said. “In the most difficult of times, I have admired how Mike manages our business and organizes the tasks that need to be accomplished for Eagle to succeed. Striking a balance between the relentless pursuit of growth and success while keeping each day lighthearted and fun has been Mike’s strong suit.”
Mike joined the Eagle team as a Terminal Manager over North Augusta, SC, in 1997 before being promoted to District Manager in 2000 and Regional Director in 2017.
“Mike has matured into each role he has held and, during times of stress, has become one of the best operational point men I have ever seen,” Vice Chairman Herb Evans said. “We will miss his enthusiasm for our industry and his steadfast presence during any crisis. I wish Mike nothing but years and years of health, happiness, and prosperity.”
As he prepares for retirement, Mike looks forward to spending more time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He also plans to spend as much time at the beach as possible while enjoying golfing, fly fishing, and woodworking.
“I would like to thank the ownership of Eagle Transport for allowing me to be a part of the Eagle Family for the last 27 years,” Mike said. “I’ve had the privilege to serve three presidents: Mr. Thomas, Mr. George, and now Mr. Collette; the leadership team that Lance has built around him will take Eagle into the future as a top-tier petroleum and chemical hauler.”
We wish Mike the best as he hangs up his Eagle hat and steps into the adventure of retirement!
